Job Description

Vested Account Managers are responsible for leading the day-to-day delivery of integrated programs, ensuring that client strategies and tactics are executed on-time, on budget and to the Vested standard. As an account manager, you’re responsible for delivering results to the client, to managing junior team members and reviewing their work, and being a primary point of contact for the client on a daily basis.

- Identifies areas of improvement related to client delivery - such as organizational processes, further education on the clients’ business, executing higher-quality work
- Participates in new business opportunities either as requested or voluntarily
- Shows proactive contributions (verbal, written) to improving Vested as a business and place to work
- Attends networking opportunities and is actively building up their LinkedIn presence 

FINANCIAL ACUMEN
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of the sectors/businesses in which your clients operate
- Expresses knowledge and interest in financial services in client meetings, phone calls, and within the office environment - in a way that the clients are impressed by your financial knowledge
- Is able to share knowledge with more junior members of staff
- Has carved out specific areas of financial services where your knowledge goes particularly deep

INTEGRATION AND CREATIVITY
- Is able to provide proactive consultation to the client on integrated marketing and communications methods (paid, owned, earned or shared)
- Has led or been closely involved in a multi-channel program on behalf of clients
- Is able to confidently articulate the benefits of paid, owned, earned and shared media and how to potentially leverage these channels to deliver better client programs

ACCOUNT SKILLS AND MANAGEMENT

Demonstrates deep understanding of clients’ business and communications goals
- Is always focused on the clients’ ultimate business objectives - demonstrates ability to tack program results back to client goals on a regular basis
- Articulates back to client with the goals are and reports on ROI of program
- Shows deep knowledge of clients’ business, customer base, and products/services - can confidently discuss client’s business, products and services and how communications/marketing can support business growth

Maintains deep, successful relationships with key client contacts
- Has developed strong working relationships with the main client point of contact that Vested works with on a daily basis
- Spends time with client contact one-on-one to ensure there is an open, transparent dialogue between the client and Vested
- Client goes to you on a regular basis for counsel and feedback

Delivers client work that exceeds client’s expectations
- Reviews work being produced by the team to ensure output is up to Vested standards
- Partners with senior leader to define individual team member roles.
- Continually assesses if resources are appropriately allocated for both client success and team member skillset and growth
- Both leads and participates in the execution of programs that receive positive feedback from the client
- Demonstrates daily leadership in mentoring/guiding the team to ensure program results are exceeding expectations
- Identifies potential gaps and works with Senior leadership on team to pivot program as needed

Monitors and inputs account time into Freckle on time and on a regular basis
- Accurately inputs time into Freckle on time and weekly
- Works with senior leadership to manage account time if billing is over or under
- Utilizes Freckle reports and capacity planning tools to provide direction on client servicing to team members
- Reviews time reports with senior leaders to identify potential areas of growth or problems

Contributes positively to the Vested environment, acts as a role model for juniors and team members
- Is viewed as a positive contribution to the Vested workplace - is respectful, professional, inspirational, and a demonstrable servant leader
- Mentors junior staff either officially or unofficially
- Works collaboratively alongside all team members

Proactively identifies ways in which the agency’s culture can be improved
- Demonstrates attention to how Vested can continuously improve its approach to client programs, retention/recruitment, and knowledge of financial services
- Has offered suggestions on areas for improvement
- Has participated in a Vested key initiative

Identifies and appeals to individual team member’s needs and motives
- Successfully manages account teams on a daily basis
- If responsible for managing a staff member, they are viewed as a motivating, helpful, and effective people manager - demonstrating an understanding of how to nurture and retain talent.
- Shows servant leadership and mentorship when working with junior team members
- Is able to manage both up and down - demonstrating high-functioning communications and collaboration
- Is able to work with diverse personalities - successfully working with personalities that may be both similar or different to their own
